About Joe Rockstar
After a bout with lymphoma in 2014-15 I decided I wanted to live a little more than just surviving. On the way home from working, I drive past a motorcycle dealership. One day I went in and bought a dirt bike on a whim. I started to learn to ride it, and almost immediately began documenting the process of learning to ride. I could barely manage turning without falling down. Within 6 months, by strange circumstances, and the influence of a friend, I would find myself racing. I was racing on a bike I bought for riding to work, and weekend trail riding. The 2016 KTM 500 EXC was not designed for this type of race, and it did not take long before I turned it into a race bike. After 2 years of struggling with wrestling the big 500, I am really starting to get the hang of it.
I finished in the top ten in my class in 2017, and in 2018, I finished in 5th place. I have learned so much and come so far in a very short time. If you haven’t done so, check out all my videos, from the earliest ones to the latest. Watch my progression from a beginner rider and filmmaker, to where I am now. It would have been all but impossible to accomplish if not for the support of viewers and Patreons.
Born in 1972, I live in Southeast Arizona. I am married and we are empty-nesters. I served as a Marine Infantry machine gunner from 1991-2005. I went to flight school during the late 90’s and I am in currently working in the aviation field teaching Instrument Flight Rules to drone pilots.
I am a member of the AMA, Arizona Motorcycle Racing Association (AMRA), and Trail Riders of Southern Arizona (TRS)
